Iron Insights

A profile photo helps fans and other athletes recognize someone faster across results, competitions and predictions, and it gives a profile personality instead of the placeholder everyone starts with. You can add a photo to an athlete's profile in Iron Insights. It will be reviewed first, and after that it can appear in the app.

When you submit a photo you confirm that you took it, or that you otherwise hold the rights to it, and that you are allowed to share it with us. Please do not submit photos you found online, or photos taken by a professional photographer who has not given you permission to share them. Being in a photo does not always mean you hold the rights to it. If the photo shows someone other than you, you confirm that you have their permission for it to be used as described on this page.

You give Iron Insights permission to use the photo as the athlete's profile picture in the app, and in our own social media posts, including on Instagram. You keep ownership of the photo. We do not sell it and we do not pass it to anyone else.

We look at every submission ourselves. We may adjust the crop or remove the background so it fits the round profile frame. We may also decline a photo, for example if we do not think it shows the athlete it was sent for, if the quality is too low to use, if it looks inappropriate, or if we have doubts about who holds the rights to it. If you have notifications turned on, we will let you know either way.

We keep a record of each submission: which athlete it was for, which user sent it, and that these terms were agreed to. We keep that record whether or not the photo is used.
